Then sealing with future and some weathering with oils or Vallejo paints...

I wet sanded the other wing as well...more paint and more cautious sanding... a different effect.
First I tried to highlight the panels with some white added to the Original color...have to experiment a little more on that subject..
Again some scratches, and now I know why, during the wet sanding, I tend to focus on some small areas, cumulating paint on the sand paper, and then it starts to scratch...!!
 
Bare with me, just a couple of more experiments and I will start painting the actual model, still have to build some confidence....( if it gets boring...just hauler..)
Also like to get back to the actual building..

That is correct Wayne..!! For ease of use during the painting experiments, I used one single color, Revell 393 dunkelgrun...
 
I do have the three colors of Gunze / Tamiya, ready for mixing ( I do have the mixing ratios ) to obtain the color you are refering to...
 
So, I am not fully ready yet to attack the model, will have to color test these paints now...the revell 393 is ohterwise correct for the Mitsubishi zero..
