This February will be the 100th anniverserary of powered flight in Canada (also British Empire) the Silver Dart . A flying replica is being built at the Russell group hanger. Among the designers was Alexander Graham Bell from whose home in Baddeck Nova Scotia the flight was made . It broke the record for powered flight which was just over 1 mile with a 35mile flight

Great pics Neil; love the Hurricane shot, hell of a low pass! (or quick wheels-up after take-off!). What's the yellow aircraft? The fin/rudder suggest DeHavilland Canada, but I don't think I've seen one before?
Terry.

nope a low pass and the yellow bird is a Fleet Fort

Thanks Neil. VERY low pass! So it's a Fleet, I think the second canopy shape must have thrown me; thanks for explaining.
Terry.

couple of update shots on the Silver Dart , helped to put on elevator today and was I thrilled . The other shot is what would have been the worlds 1st ailerons (the triangular bits)
Now they must get it to Baddeck Nova Scotia for the 100th anniversary flight, its about 1400 kms away
Other interesting thing is this aircraft will be certified and have an MOT registration.

I'm going to scan all my predigital photos so here is a wee selection they were taken at the CWH Airshow, RAF Museum Hendon , and of course work . The one I took in Hendon were done without flash as I refused to be extorted for batteries at the museum. Sorry the quality lacks a bit but that what happens when they sit in a box
