With hundreds of NA-16/BT-9/NJ-1 versions being built before the standardized T-6/SNJ, I'd suspect many maintenance/supply officers considered "North American" to be a favorite curse word.

It seems China bought about twenty, but they were all lost. Sweden purchased some, so they managed to at least hang on to one.
welcome.Yeah... there were few and didn't last long. Thanks though.
Seems I read somewhere that Spitfire was used in the movie Dunkirk. Can someone corroborate this?Spitfire Mark.1A, P9374 on the beach of Calais sometime soon after 24 May 1940. It went down
on 24 May 1940. F/O Peter Cazenove survived the crash-landing and ultimately became a POW.
The plane was buried under the sand shortly after this shot for decades, but emerged in 1980
and has been restored. The plane is flyable and is at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford.

I don't know about that but I was at Duxford a few years ago and they had another Spit 1a which had been shot down only a couple of weeks from this. It had also been restored to original condition and the differences between them were quite striking. In particular the different bullet proof windows and rear view mirrors.Seems I read somewhere that Spitfire was used in the movie Dunkirk. Can someone corroborate this?
