SBD's on the Big E. There must have been at least some desire in the USN to keep the SBD in service after WW2. It was a reliable aircraft that could be used for various purposes. Even today it would still be useful for COIN, CAS, and even intercepting drones. There was something absurd about OH-58 crews in Iraq hanging out the door and shooting at hostiles with M4 rifles after their four Hellfire missiles had been expended.
