And when the B-52 retires, there'll be a KC-135 fly-by! We had a 58- or 59-FY aircraft operating locally this last week.I like the B-52 in the background. There'll probably be one in the B-21 retirement picture.

Cleanest most reliable aircraft I ever worked on. Spent twelve year directly supporting them, A, E, R and EC-135 G, L and Y. Great aircraft.Gotta' love the classics. The KC-135 is aesthetically perfect. For a jet.
To be honest, it's a bit of a frightening thought. Some times I marvel over the fact as a young teen I followed the B-52 prototypes, the ones with the tandem cockpits, and can realise that today some B-52s are flown by the grandsons of some of the earliest pilots.
Not necessarily to fly, but to get aboard a carrier much less just land.Fixer Upper Cutlass. And any airplane with a nose strut that long has to be a nightmare to fly.

By any chance, is the SR-71 a YF12-A?
X-B70 is the coolest. Got to see it fly at Edwards AFB back in the day. Also, my dad worked for the company that developed the anti skid braking system for the C-5A.And when the B-52 retires, there'll be a KC-135 fly-by! We had a 58- or 59-FY aircraft operating locally this last week.
