I am looking to identify two planes in pictures I have from when my grandfather served in WWII. I have inserted them as they were originally and after slight editing.

My grandfather, Bernard J Hurley, was a Corporal in the 895th Chemical Company of the U.S. Army. He served with Air Corps in Texas, Missouri, Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, and Ie Shima (Ie Jima), Japan.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
The cross marking composed of four 7s was used by the Imperial Japanese Army's 74th Sentai (flight squadron).
Airframe looks like a Ki-49 left in the Philippines in early 1945.

If you look at Jill's photos I think you'll find the windscreen assembly dislodged fro the cockpit structure. It does have the same triangle window, no doubt in my mind it's a Helen (Ki-49).
