In the Past the paper kits were cheapper than the plastic ones. And also larger when assembled. Basicly the paper ones are easier to build in my humble opinion. Actually the tool set for it may consists of a pair of scissors , a pencil, ruler and a small bottle of balck ink. The basic set : scissors and razor blade. All these tools are very popular and could be bought at any stationery shop.
Regarding the assembling process ... like for the plastic kits .. a good glue ( I had a choice limited to two ones in the past ), some patience, intuition, accuracy and the ability of reading of the instructions and diagrams. So nothing more what we need for assembling of the plastic models..
 
That's true. The Haliński's kits are really advanced. The accuracy of the printing is great. There is a lot of small details and all fits nice mostly. However the basic rule. also the same for the plastic kits, is to fit three times , glue once.
