The Fw-190 looks nice, but at some time there is a diminishing return on the number of open panels vs the completed model effect.

My hats off to the modeller, but not my bag. Kinda like posing the parts at the expense of missing the beauty if you ask me.

I tend to agree Matt. Can't take anything away from the model or the modeller, but I do think that, unless the model is for, say, instructional or demonstration purposes, built to show all the internals, then it can spoil the effect. Unless, of course, it's part of a diorama with groundcrew working on it, for example.

This 1/20 model of the Hawker Tempest Mk. V made its public debut at IPMS UK Scale Modelworld 2009.

Created by acclaimed modeller Alan Clark, the model is entirely scratchbuilt, complete down to the engine, interior detail and the various fittings. The model took about 4 years to complete.

What a stunner! I think it was his Spit XIV and Sea Fury I saw years ago, also scratch-built in 1/24th scale. They had to be seen close up to be believed, fantastic.
