YES SIR !!! will take some more detailpics of the diorama one day if wanted..
got it stored in the hangar.. all those models take to much space here at home..
thanks 109 and 13..will do.. i also made the B-17 with a "new" right wing..battledamage and got a wing from another B-17..that had been painted.. did it after some pictues showing where the wings was jointed togehter. this B-17 i used a upgradekit on and also made bomb baydoors..
here is a picture of the upgraded 1:48 B-17 kit and how the bombaydoors look ( as those are shut on the kit ) and the wingtip..
and a Fw 190 that came just a bit to close to the B-17 this was a model that i was really unhappy with so made a mess out of it ( i think the whole kit was 9 parts or something.. )
i used a needle ( for small holes ) and heated it up with a lighter..let it melt into the kit.. then dont take it out until the plastic has hardened..then around the area where you want paint to be chipped of paint some silver ( enamel paint does the trick )..when dry paint the whole aircrfat ( i use airbrush ) but make sure you dont paint much around the bulletholes with the silver..only the little area where you want it to be "flaked and chipped "
then paint it all the way you want it to look like as if there were no bulletholes ..also over the silver and the bulletholes.. when dried you can use your nail to scratch away the paint over the bulletholes..the paint will fall of very easy as the paint dont attach well to the silver but the area you have not painted silver will be strong and good( this i learned by a mistake when i made a 1:32 F-86 F sabre and painted the whole ting silver..when i did all the other i had BIG problems..as when i removed the maskingtape the other paint in other areas disepeared with the tape and silver was all that was left) and it gives a very realistic look as one dont have to paint silver ON TOP of the paint to make it look worn..i used the same method on the B-17 wing.. you will get the correct flaking..paint peeling of and silver underneath. i am very happy with that resault
this is a model i build pretty quick..its the model that convinced Revell to go for KG 54 in the new 1:32 scale.. i really had hoped they would to it with the red band but they went for another gruppen ( yellow band ) i send several modelpics of different schemes from BoB to revell regarding the new model..
this is my favorite scheme and the only model i keept ( except from U4+TK allthought that is kinda boring its the actuall Ju 88 we are restoring so no wonder why i like it ) and the reason why i love this is ofcourse that this is how the Ju 88 A5 we salvaged looked during BoB ( its all personall )
i had to scratchmake the code on the side and masked out the red band
