Wayne, It's a kit I picked up on ebay about a year age from China: Kitech. It's a Ju 88 A-1. Was/am doing it for the competition build: Eastern Front. Don't know if I'll finish it in time. Turning out to be a very poorly done kit. LOTS of flash and the pic on the cover only resembles the actual model inside. Directions are worse than the Ho 229. No words, just pics with vague arrows, no locator pins just two parts pressed together, no painting directions except external. So another kit maker I'll never buy from again

Got them on Ebay, price was right and could not find them anywhere else. Also thought it was pretty cool to sit at my computer in Joliet, Il and order a model kit from China. Always thought kits were pretty much the same all over, well live and learn

Been building models for 60 years. Even built several large scale control-line models including an F4U and a Red Baron triplane way back inthe days of rice paper and Dope. As the kids got bigger it got tougher and tougher to find the time. Now in my "twilight" years I'm finding more time and there is no one around to destroy my models once they are built. Trying to put together a comprehensive WWII collection before the eyes and hands fail

I've finally got myself a negative and slide scanner, and found a few old transparencies of models I built between 1978 and 1980, so thought I'd try out the scanner. Sadly, only two of these models survive (Chieftain and FW190), and the better-quality pics have disappeared from my files.
PIC 1. 1/35th scale Chieftain against a back-projected sunset.
PICS 2 to 4. Knocked out Syrian T55, again in 1/35th.
PIC5 and 6. RAF Phantom, in 1/32nd scale, converted from the Revell F4J kit, still under construction. The squadron eagle badges were hand-painted, as was the camouflage finish overall. This eventually won an IPMS Regional comp, but was destroyed on the way back from the event, when my (then) wife had to take violent evasive action in our car, due to a loony running a light!
PICS 7 to 9. FW190A8, Hasegawa 1/32nd scale. And yes, I know the nose band is wrong, and the cannon bulges are missing from the wing tops!
PICS 10 and 11. The Monogram 1/48th Sabre, in RAF colours, built OOB. The checker nose and tail markings are hand-painted, as is the overall paint scheme.

Thanks very much guys. the sunset shot of the Chieftain was done for an advertising poster, and this is one i didn't use. If I can find the good one, it looks better, as I put a low-key light in front, just to give some highlight here and there, and to reflect off the tank's headlights and the spot lamp on the turret.
