I see these in people's signatures, I thought it was just a thing people did until I noticed the badges with numbers on them at the aircraft's tails. and when I looked at the forums, I found some that had what looked to be competitions (I didn't look thoroughly). Is it something people do on the website and can I make one for my signature, or is it a competition thing and you have to earn them as badges or something?

These are "badges" for Group Builds in the model section. Everyone is welcome to participate. They are judged but no prizes awarded, just for fun. The numbers are for 1st, 2nd and third. Also an "award" for People Choice, voted by forum members
