My first job out of college was in an engineering office, where, on occasion, a phone would ring and it would be obvious to the person who answered it that it was one of the wives asking for her husband. A witty response was some times provided, "Him? Oh, he is not here right now. He just went to lunch with his wife."

On occasion this had serious consequences for the poor missing engineer.
