A few months ago we had a similar story in our local press so I reckon its more common that you may think.
Its not the same but my sister in law lives in a remote part of Somerset and hers was installed by the local greengrocer. I was horrified in the setup but she insisted that this was fine and the free antivirus was as good as anything. You won't be surprised to hear that shortly afterwards she lost all her data and emails, but you may be surprised to hear that I resisted the temptation to say 'I told you so'
