Another one from Ireland:

A few days before Christmas, Flannigan who had retired to Ireland, calls his son in New York City.
He says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your Mother and I are divorcing. Forty five years is enough."
"Dad, what are you talking about"?
"We can't stand the sight of each other. I'm sick of talking about this, so call your sister in Chicago and tell her."
The son calls his sister who screams, "No way are they getting divorced! I'll take care of this."
Immediately she calls Ireland and screams at her father, "You are not getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until we get there. I'm calling my brother and we will both be there by Christmas eve. Don't do a single thing, do you hear me"?
Flannigan hangs up, turns to his wife, "Okay they are coming for Christmas and they are paying their own way."
