The other day I recalled a story told to me by a man I served with at Vandenberg AFB.

He, his wife, and her mother, were dining at an all-you-can eat buffet in Santa Maria CA. All seemed to be going well and they were enjoying their meal until there was a splash and coffee sprayed across the table. Then he watched in amazement as a small head rose out of his wife's coffee cup. His first thought was, "Mygosh! There is a frog in my wife's coffee!" But in fact the soaked intruder was a mouse, who climbed out of the cup and beat a hasty retreat, transiting his wife's dinner salad in the process. She and her mother (his wife, not the mouse, who's sex was not determined and whose mother was not present) began screaming. Hardly perturbed, my friend sat there continued to eat his shrimp as the establishment emptied around him. The manager apologized profusely, saying that there had been water leak the previous week that had soaked one of the ceiling tiles, which had been removed. A mouse scurrying along in the ceiling had fallen through the hole. The descending rodent had bounced off his wife's shoulder and landed in her coffee cup. The manager offered them a free meal at a future date.

There was no question of the two women continuing to dine in the restaurant and they left, going to a Mexican restaurant down the street, where my friend had to pour a couple of bottles of wine into the women to get hem to calm down.

The following year he stopped by the restaurant and asked if the free meal offer was till valid. As it turned out the new manager had been a busboy at the time of the mouse acrobatics and replied that the free meal was still good.

Once in an all you can eat, my father in law, a retired chief master sgt. in SAC, commented, "Did you see that woman do a Houdini into her purse with her food?"
He noticed everything same as the FBI.
