Before I was a counsellor I was a senior Project Manager / Program Manager for an IT company and my speciality was Projects that had either gone wrong, or were going wrong. I sometimes used a set of slides very similar to the top five when emphasising the role of the Business Analyst, a role that was often considered the least important in the IT world.
You could almost guarantee that if a project goes wrong, the business analysis was either missing something or at least as likely wasn't taken seriously seriously by the 'Professional' IT world.
Its a small world

One of my co-workers, after reading a draft of one of my reports I sent her mailed me :

- Why is it that your reports always sound great ?

- My reply to her : I write boring to look serious (which was true).

At my first job, I was voluntold as fire marshal. I had to write a meticulous set of instructions to evacuate the building. My boss, was a meticulous engineer. I wrote a meticulous, lengthy set of instructions. Just to prove to myself that no one would read it, the last line of this lengthy tome had "..then the fire marshal will get the f - - - out of here, via the nearest fire exit."
It was posted for years on both floors.
