That becomes obvious if you look at some period photos. Paint/dope used on fabric had aluminum powder mixed in to provide a shield from sunlight, so it was easy to make flat aluminum paint.Aluminum is a metal, but aluminum dope is not a NMF, it's a paint and it's a dull aluminum flake paint at that.

I really only needed the PE, Resin, Foil and paints etc., but to make the purchase big enough to have free postage I added the F.2B and the F4F-3 (the logic works for my wife, so I thought I could do the same). The Brisfit has been on the wish list for quite a while, and the Wildcat has a yellow wings scheme (winner!) to add to my collection.
Now - if only I can find the time to use this stuff...........
