I collected this little lot from the Post Office today, along with other stuff to re-stock on plastic sheet, strip and rod.
The 'Rising Decals' at left and right are for Wayne (be in the mail tomorrow mate), and the A-4 is for Evan (mail tomorrow -sent you an e-mail).
The little package at bottom right is a pair of resin wheels for the Sea Fury.
After my visit to RAF Valley last month, I couldn't resist the Special Offers at Hannant's on the Revell 1/32nd scale Hawk kit - the kit, and the Xtradecal decal sheet, all for £14.99 ! The kit alone normally retails between £19.99 and £22.99, with the decal sheet at £9.99, so quite a bargain I reckon.
As all the reviews state, it's a beauty of a kit and, in the overall black colour scheme, should be an impressive model when done. The standard of moulding and detail is superb - even allowing for the 'Red Arrows' red plastic, no doubt aimed at the younger modeller - and even straight out of the box, would provide a large, well detailed model. Really looking forward to getting 'stuck in' on this one - whenever that might be!!

Not really a recent purchase but I had to put it here anyway. I was digging around in the attic looking for something and found my pre-marriage stash which I had completely forgotten about. They've been lost up there for at least 15 years so It's just as good as a new find

loving that Chevy!

Yep, the blue which didn't exist, and subject of years of questioning and argument with the famous 'Bottisham Four' photo !
Basically, the 'Dallas' hood would be fitted to P-51Ds produced at the Dallas plant, and to P-51Ks. The other external difference with the 'K' was the 'cuff' less, Aeroproducts prop, which it is possible to produce by carving the HS prop to shape.

Just an addition, since I see people already chimed in with the correct answers :D The 'K' originally started with cuff less, but some changed to the reguler cuffed prop. Since they didn't like how the un-cuffed flew. So make sure to consult your refrences, at first it might not be clear which one is a D and K but when you stare at them long enough you'll figure it out :) you can make it out in pics pretty easy when there side by side or know where to look for the hump on the canopy.

That reminds me, my P-51K is still in the paint booth :S

Stopped by to see Wayne today, since I was in the neighborhood!
Went to see Craig at Aeroworks in Adelaide and finally wet the man who helps me with finding them kits.
What a well stocked store. Has all the stuff for the "serious builder", and that is the sound of my wife snickering in the background at "serious builder".
Picked up three kits for future GB's.

GB19, Nose art is my Davidson flown A-20G USAAF Havoc, Hellin Pelican. I will have to have custom decals made, art work already done.

GB21, my Davidson flown F4F-3 USMC, VMF-211, the last plane lost at Wake Island Dec. 8th, 1941.

GB, a lonnnng way off but just had to buy it because it was there, My Davidson flown RFC, F.2B WWI.

Nice scores guys!
That B-24D is a real nice kit Dirk, but I suggest you enclose a steel rod in the horizontal stabilizer when you close it up. After a year on the display shelf mine began to sag. Annoying. :(
