Good stuff guys. Igor, the old 'Matchbox' Spitfire isn't bad, but a lot of the detail parts are fairly 'chunky', and fit of the wings and root fillets is not brilliant. Also, the engine cowlings are best either left off, or glued in place and the joints filled. I first built this kit in the mid 1970's, then cross-kitted this kit with the Hasegawa MkV to make a MkXIV a couple of years back, which turned out reasonably.

This is what I got:-
The empty space should show a pic of a 1/48th scale Airfix kit of the BAe Hawk T1, and the Aeroguides book on the Hawk - but the bl**dy parcel has 'gone missing' in the mail!!

P/P was more than the book (and it was cheap!) and it's like new!
Only a few pages in the book and I already love it, gives me another appreciation for Airfix!

Btw, after having some serious trouble to put away my Airfix book, Airfix, Celebrating 50 Years of the Greatest Plastic Kits in the World, anyone with the slightest interest in Airfix or such, need, must get one, gives me a new appreciation for Airfix and how kits are decided and how they come into production...

Good stuff Jan and Karl. Saw that books some time ago, and wouldn't mind looking through it - might invest in a copy.
Aaron, if the parcel doesn't turn up, a claim can be made against the Post Office, and the supplier is more than willing to send it again. However, Post Office rules apply! I have to wait a total of three weeks form date of despatch, before a claim can be made.
The order was placed with a company I use regularly, who specialise in out of production items, but fortunately, they have stock of the items I ordered. Had it been Karl's Hurricane and Spit (which I was going to order, but let Karl go first!), then that would be different - they only had one of each in stock.
