I have absolutely no intention to suggest to consider my model as an example for your build, Terry but, just to give an idea on how she will look, I post a couple of photos of the model I built in the late eighties, almost surely it was the same kit.
In brackets, no after-market decals were available by then, so I had to hand make the squadron badges and other decals, as it can be clearly appreciated.

For the large individual numbers, I was lucky to find a drafting shop who produced for me special dry transfers.
Cheers

Nicely done, and thanks Alberto. I've just been looking at the kit, and I think I can do a lot with it, with a few scratch-built additions. I had intended to do a West German Luftwaffe aircraft, but I've decided on a Royal Netherlands AF bird, in a similar colour scheme, with 'Dayglo' tip tanks, and have just ordered the decals - then found I had Dutch roundels and other decals in the spares files!!

Great stuff Cory, it should look good when it's restored. I had thought of doing this Royal Danish Air Force example, preserved at the Midland Air Museum, but the overall green colour (like the Canadian later scheme) would disappear in the cabinet!

Cory, I must be getting old - I can remember the bare metal RCAF Starfighters landing at Prestwick, Scotland, in the mid 1960s. They sounded like a radio being tuned!

I envy you that Terry, I wish I had been able to see them flying. My dad has told me of a time at an airshow when a CF-104 blasted over the crowd from behind at low level. You just don't get that now, and the variety is gone, at least for jets. When the only thing we've had are Hornets while I've been alive, I missed out on a lot! I see the CF-18s all the time, but stuff from the US and UK used to come up fairly regularly for airshows, but it's been ages since I've seen anything, and I barely remember those events. There was a Harrier here a number of years ago, I do recall it flying over our car while we were on the road, and a formation of an F-117, two A-10s and an F-15 flying over my house, but that's at least 10 years ago. I've got pictures of Jaguars here for instance, but I certainly wasn't around for that!

Just picked up this baby at Squadron.com for $21. Also 4 sheets of decals for 2 bucks each. Sale is still going on so check it out.

Yeah, I know. I was browsing for the decals and came across that great kit for half price. There are some good deals there every now and then and it's worth checking out the daily mystery deal at the top of the page.
