Cheers guys! Can't beat the market - scored that lot for about 6000 HUF (approx. 25 USD), half that cost being the new new riveting tool!

Geo - no idea without checking if they do that set in 1:48 aswell, but I have seen markings for different captured birds in that scale from time to time... Ventura for instance do various sets. (- and 1:72 RULES!!! :) )

Bill, it would put me to shame to show how many kits I have either unmade or in various stages awaiting more info, skill, or settled surroundings! :)

Added some more decals to the already large pile....all in 1/32

I decided to try the Chinese way:idea::idea:

One other bird that's intriguing myself is the P-38.
I started thinking since some time that I should build one, either with an Italian livery (very monotone) or with one of those very colourful nose art, of course American.

I understood that the best P-38 in 1/32 is available from Chinese Trumpeter and I found on e-bay a Chinese seller offering it for 75 Euros (USD 98), freight included, that means aprox 34% less then here in Italy.

Let's wait ans see if it works well! I will keep you informed.

Thanks Alberto. It sounds pretty good overall, give or take what seems to be the normal Trumpeter shape problems, although I don't like the unnecessary gimmick of the metal control surface hinges and the 'rubber' tyres. The latter always look wrong, expand and contract with temperature, can't really be properly painted to replicate dirt and actual 'tyre colour', and can sometimes decay!
I also noticed that the mirrors on the engine nacelles have been moulded as circular pieces. These should be oval, unless the 'L' version was different to other versions. A bit pricey at full retail cost, but it is a lot of model at that size - I remember building the old Revell kit 40+ years ago, and it was big!
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
