Agony and ecstasy are the only ways to describe this scenario.
E Bay, last night. I had been watching the Trumpeter 1/48 Wellingtons, one the MkIII and the other the markI. They were scheduled to close two minutes apart. Let me say I am still new to E Bay so I do not yet have a good grasp on all the minutia of how E Bay works.
Anyway the Mk.III comes up first and I am the successful bidder....the ecstasy.
I then scroll to the Mk.I and get ready to bid, with 10 seconds left I hit the bid button and I am sent a message that I can't bid as I have not yet paid for my recent purchase. I believe I may have let out a sound resembling that of a small girl who's favourite kitty has run away. To say I was heartbroken was an understatement. To add insult to injury it would have been mine as there were no other bidders....
the agony of it all.
Even if I had have known the rule, I would not have had time to complete my first transaction before the second auction closed. I learned some valuable lessons. All I can hope for is the seller re-lists. I wanted the Mk.I to use in the Med. group build as one of 40 Sqdns. Malta based Wellingtons.
Anyhow, I now own the Mk.III and she will eventually be done up in 425 Sqdn. RCAF colours. She cost me $57.00 USD with shipping. A very fair price as she is new in the factory sealed box.
Cheers,
Jeff
