Dude that is the remains of the actual Hadrians wall !
I've been there myself on a school trip, it does look a bit like a dry stone wall but bigger, built on a natural geological fault called the Whin Sill Ridge Whin Sill - Wikipedia

There was a suggestion recently that the stump had sprouted new growth. Was that correct or just wishful thinking?

Amazing pictures. I love seeing this and thinking of all the history. Wow! That was fantastic! The hike, I can't even imagine. That's some tough terrain.
Thank you.

My Daughter and I were chatting about history v ancient history and imagine a Roman soldiers thoughts on being posted to the wall and wondered if it had a small influence on Game of Thrones ?

Cawthorne Camp - Wikipedia As a kid my uncle used to take me here before anyone knew about it, like a bracken covered adventure playground, worth a visit.
Didn't know about that one, thanks

Great stuff. Done the Wall quite a few times, back in the last century. These days, I wouldn't even reach it from the main road !
The Vet and I are now thinking of walking the whole thing from west to east !
