We did 8.19 miles in 4 hours over some pretty challenging ground.

Last hour we had sun, cloud, rain, hail, rain, cloud and then sun again !

I've been there myself on a school trip, it does look a bit like a dry stone wall but bigger, built on a natural geological fault called the Whin Sill Ridge Whin Sill - Wikipedia

Yes, in the later pics you can see it from the North side of the wall.

My Daughter and I were chatting about history v ancient history and imagine a Roman soldiers thoughts on being posted to the wall and wondered if it had a small influence on Game of Thrones ?

There are some off shoots sprouting from the stump.

I didn't capture them though !

Great stuff. Done the Wall quite a few times, back in the last century. These days, I wouldn't even reach it from the main road !
