Scratch build Boeing F4B-4

The plastic tubing is a good idea. For my flying models, I have used .015 music wire and round toothpicks, however I used to drill the holes in the toothpicks and thread the wire through the holes. Reduced closeup vision and less steady hands and flat tooth pics have left me needing alternatives, The tubing seems perfect. As most of my models are 3/4 or 1 inch to the foot, the actual scale of the components is not critical, as when I entered contests, I entered "Sport scale" which is judged from 15ft away by the judges. I have not entered the "Precision Scale" category because of the judging up close with scale rulers and such.

Custom exhaust stacks were epoxied to each cylinder where feasible. I say this because of the bracing I used to fasten the cowl to the fuselage. I suppose I could've used alternate methods of securing the cowl but I'm happy with it.

Drum roll please. I'm ( finally) calling my two-year project done! Engine/exhaust assembly epoxied in place. Propeller blades glued to the hub & a prop shaft from 1/8" dia. brass tubing used. I placed the model on my display table & outside for pictures. Then I just sat there & stared in amazement for about a hour that I finally finished it!
