The primary focus is Multidisciplinary Optimization approach using a wide variety of math based methodologies to assist in the stages of Conceptual Design to Preliminary Design to Detail Design.

Raymer is also the author of Aircraft Design: A Conceptual Approach, which is included in the AIAA Education Series.

I recommend both highly for those of you that wish to understand how the industry does 'stuff' these days.
