Good evening guys, after a long time i return with the first episode of the ''Merlin 66 engine'' series. Hope you like it so far, of course i have a long way ahead with the engine but i think that the first step has been done.

Guys good evening, a small progress regarding the engine compartment, evrything has been painted, washed and dry brushed with titanium white oil..

After that i did the plumping on the firewall and i assembled it with the frames. I also have to assemble the engine and do the final plumbing and wiring on it.

Awesome John. Your updates are far between but worth the wait. Question: those aren't ejector pin marks on the insides of the cowls are they?

Looking great John. I was going to ask about the cowling panels too - haven't seen any pressing on the real thing.

Thanks guys, my free time is limited thats why my updates take some time. As for the cowling panels on each one there is some detail inside but the other ones are indeed ejector pin marks. i tried to sand them out, but it was a bit difficult, the room is limited, plus the fact that they are so thin!! What really is strange about this is that not all of them are small holes that you can fill them with putty and sand them, or minor raised detail that you can samd, they are raised pin marks that you have to sand all the way down to make them even with the rest of the cowling. Tamiya didi a great job trying to scale down the cowlings by making them too thin, you can see the light through them, but they did not succed on molding them as good. I was afraid not to make a hole or something and destroy the part, So i took the responsibility to leave them as it is.
