    Ok, I was just reading through the internet and I kept coming across the photo of a B-26 with the engine hit in midair and going down. When I read the description on most of them they said an unknown B-26... after reading further I found this

    Is this actually the man who flew the plane or did the picture appear in the article as an example?

    Far as I know, that famous photo is of the actual aircraft. I read a caption to it in a book a few years ago, and that name sounds familiar.

    I read the same story about that picture. It was written by one of the gunners in the back.
