There are school kids here that walk to school in shorts, -30--40°C every year that I've been here, since 1985. I'm usually good to -20 but that's from the truck to the store
You are a true Canadian, George. My shorts are all washed and put away. We are scheduled for snow this weekend -- up at the mines they got a pretty good snowfall last week.
You still have smoke up there? It never got too bad down here -- we could walk outside most of the summer.

We had smoke for about a week with visibility less than 2kms and my son, who works in a mine up by the BC/Yukon border said it was worse. The mine I just retired from is sitting at -6°C at the moment heading for -10 by Sunday. Freezing and thawing are playing havoc with the roads right now
A beautifully sunny morning here. It's heading up to 17C by early afternoon ... then cooling ... then the first snow of the season starting tonight .... sigh. I need to get out on the bike, while I can....
Had a couple of glasses of Scotch with neighbours on my new deck on Friday in 18C sunshine. Driving home from Nanton at 2pm yesterday it was 20C. By midnight, it was 0C and snow was falling. Ah, Alberta weather.............
