This was my office.

Love ya', man. My first ride on the LIRR was in one of these. I was about four. I couldn't get over the portholes, actually called "bull's eyes".
This must be the Atlantic branch near Dunton tower by Richmond Hill yard.

One of the first new M-9 married pairs delivered to the LIRR. Unpowered because 3rd rail contact shoes uninstalled due to shipping, it's on its way to Hillside yard.

I've lined out the first M-9 consist test train out of Belmont Park. I think it's the first. The horse racing track of Belmont Stakes fame. Revenue train equipment must be run for a given amount of miles before FRA certification can be given.

It's funny how I consider, if not all, the vast majority, of today's electric locomotives (and others) painfully ugly, but I think of these as beautiful....never mind Bipolars, Little Joe's, GG1's, EP-4's, W-1's!

E-14 is so ugly they didn't want their name on it. Maybe also, 5011, but it could be paint had not been invented yet.
