Kit: RS Models #92051: Me Bf-109X Experimental Fighter.
Accessories: PE rudder pedals and (a liitle) scratchbuilding.

This thing keeps looking at me everyday and I'm itching to build it...
It won't be superdetailed like the H-1, but kit is pretty good as it is. Just needs rudder pedals and maybe a few other bits and pieces.
Didn't announce this earlier, as the canopy will be an issue - dosen't fit. I will sort something out for that at the time (probably open it, though it is quite thick)
Note that box art version of canopy is incorrect.

Cheers guys. Yeah, unusual with the BMW 801 engine.

Cockpit started.

As no photos exist of the original's cockpit, decided to base it vaguely on the widened Me 209 V-1/ Me 309 cockpits, but with relevant 109F features.

Not happy with that bar under the seat (too far back), it will be removed and repositioned.

Kit seat base is too wide, but I like the seatbelt detail so will let it pass.

Cheers guys.
I miscalculated the position of that rear bar - when I put the seat in, I realised it would be in the way of the trim and flap wheels. Easy fix though.

Cheers guys.

Couldn't resist - mainplanes together.

Pics show wings dry fitted (after a little fettling) and my only problem (apart from the canopy) with RS Models kits - thick trailing edges.
I have thinned them a little already, but they still need to be filled in places and thinned a bit more if possible.
