A technical question about the A-10 please. On the shots showing closeups of the left side of the cockpit, on the fuselage side slightly to the rear is a lever/handle, which around it are circular marks, of increasing diameter. These marks, left on the paint, indicate some kind of frequent maintenance. What kind? Weathering on an A-10 model may be needed.
Of course, maintenance for the models in the last photo will be prohibitive.

I see what you are saying, the "lever or handle" is the angle of attack sensor, but I have no idea what has caused the rings to form almost centered on it. If I had to guess I think it may be caused by jet blast from starting anouther A-10 with the engines pointed at this example. But that is just a stab in the dark. The rings look like they are about the same height as the A-10 engine exhaust, or slightly lower.

The question you asked intrigued me a bit and so I did some photographic research. It would seem that many A-10s have these strange rims in the fuselage.

In addition to these photos I found some that could be clarifying... The ribbons of the various "remove before Flight" could be those that rubbing on the fuselage, pushed by the wind, generic these circles on the paint of the aircraft, in addition to cannon fumes

My guess is gun gasses, the remove before flight will not cause a full circle. Gun gasses coming back from the air stream hitting the AOA probe and disrupting the air pattern would be my guess. BUT, Hey what do I know.....
