What Annoyed You Today?

Got a fairly bad vision problem.
I think the "new" lens in my right eye, implanted during cataract surgery in January this year, has moved. Can't focus unless I close one eye, having double vision, and paralax problems, along with distance and depth perception problems.
Hoping I can get an emergency hospital appointment, but being Christmas, I doubt there'll be a quick remedy.
Any joy with your eyes Terry? :|

'Phoned the hospital, who referred me to my GP.
GP asked me to come in to the Practice today, and, after examination, would then send me to the hospital !
Couldn't do that today, as I had to wait for an important parcel parcel delivery, so requested a slot tomorrow, but that no good, as the Christmas rotas wouldn't work (i.e. - they all on the piss on Christmas Eve ??!!).
So I said I'll call again on Friday - if I can see the screen on my 'phone !!!

FOOTNOTE - bothers me that General Practice Doctors have that "Practice" word in their title; I'd expect them to be perfect, not f***ing practicing !!
Let's face it, you wouldn't take your car for a major service to a mechanic who was practicing, for f***s sake !!!

Something minor compared to what others are suffering. Today I went down to pick the last 6 pomelos (one of the few fruit I can eat on my diet) so that I , and others, could enjoy some tomorrow.

They had all gone rotten on the tree. That 49mm rain last Thursday night probably caused them to grow too fast as they were all split like happens to some fruit after too much water.

So that's the reason why the citrics split open in the tree?

My inlaws have some orange and lemmon trees and at times that happens.

Hot weather, especially with winds, causes the tree to take water from young fruit, softening it. If the tree is then irrigated heavily, the dehydrated fruit swells, causing the rind to split.

I suppose it matters if one is talking American English vs "proper" English. In the latter we have "practiSe" the verb whereas "practiCe" is the noun.

Woke up at 3:30 to the sound of the UPS alarm and lots of black light from the lighting and absent power from the wall sockets thanks almost certainly to some idiot who tried to drive their car up a power pole.

SWMBO and I had planned on 05:30 get up so that he meal will be ready at noon. Turkey went in the oven just after 10 and takes four hours to cook.

GRUMP
