I've been having trouble sleeping since 1974, 4-5 hours tops. If I do manage 8 hours I feel as if I hadn't slept at all

That is a symptom of insomnia according to my sleep specialist. Once I started setting my alarm for 5 hours after I went to bed and got up the moment the alarm went off I felt much better.

One of the side affects of my meds is insomnia. According to a sleep "specialist", he said everyone has two cycles of sleep during the night lasting about 4hrs each. Most people never realize that they ever stir after the first one and fall back to sleep. Once I wake up, I'm up, there is no second cycle. This started when I was logging in '74. It was too hot for regular shifts so we worked early shift, 4:00am to 1:30 PM. It was too hot to go to bed before 10:00PM and the alarm went off a 3:00am. This went on over the summer and I just got used to it

I think it's easier for me to sleep when I have to deal with 40 children from 8 to 3:40 five days a week. My own aren't as exhausting.

She made it home - in tears. 25 years with the Pre-wife and she has changed, not for the better. I gotta evaluate my choices but I am so mad and depressed right now. Shithole is right.
I posted one of my then-and-now photos on FB. It had a swastika on it because, well, it's a picture from the war. Got flak for that because of the swastika, it's supposed to be shameful and not something to be proud of.
