What am I doing today? Hmm, let me think, working, doing errands, collecting my daughter from college and oh yeah, dodging this big fu@#ing hurricane...
In fact, the sky is leaden grey this morning already.

The green arrow points to the green dot which is me.

Helene came by last week and absolutely blasted St Petersburg and our barrier islands, in fact, the house we had in the 80's and 90's on Bradenton Beach (40 miles south of where we are now) was destroyed. We were unfortunately on the southeast quadrant of the storm (not the place to be) and got one hell of a storm surge with a LOT of flooding. This time around we should be on the northern side of it so maybe it won't be so bad, but the areas south of us won't be so lucky.

I've lived here since 1980 but this is one of the only times I'm nervous about it, they virtually never make a bee line for Clearwater, which is why I chose the Gulf Coast. I can't see us having power after Wednesday so I may be offline for a while but we should be OK. Got plenty of food and water and other supplies already so not standing in the queue at the store, we plan ahead.

Also our dwelling is rock solid and not in an evac zone and even Orwell (my 1985 SS Monte Carlo (built and purchased in 1984)) is in a garage on pretty high ground so I think we're safe from just about everything 🤞

Spent most of the day clearing out my MIL's house. It's amazing the stuff a person can accumulate over the course of their life. We have just scratched the surface and still have all the outbuildings to tackle.

Yes, that thought sometimes comes to me when I am looking for something I know I have.

And the next thought is "And Isn't It All Great?!"

One day on one of those search missions, I could not figure out why I had only one Monogram 1/48 BF-110G when I certainly recalled buying two. And then I found the plastic bin I was looking for and confirmed that my Excel spreadsheet inventory was in error. And was baffled to discover that I really did not have two of them. I HAD THREE! And I had no idea where the third one came from.

Happens too often IKR!

I had planned to drop by the airport for a short while this morning and then spend the rest of the day at home working on various projects, including fence repair, lawnmower maintenance, and yard work.

Instead I went to the airport at around 0800 and was there until after 1800, helping a friend work on Cessna 172's.

A good day, anyway....

Doing coursework. Complicated and boring as hell. Kids been bickering all day. Great anniversary day bs. Everyone though it was my oldest\s birthday today and it is a date of event, 18 years ago. I had to set them straight (my MIL, her sister and her aunt). Hooray for that. Mood is crap.

We had a gentle breeze out of the SE last night that pushed 2 trees over into my back yard. Yippee.
Fortunately, missed the house. Spent the morning cutting up wood and tossing it in the woods.
However, Sundays in the fall/winter means Football (American), so I only worked on it for about 2 hours. My back and one of my knees had had it by then anyway and it was starting to rain, so I called it for the day.
See how the weather is tomorrow. Hopefully I can finish the job then.

Made a Urologist apt today!👎 Back to passing blood and clots 😈 for three weeks now. Was put on blood thinners after a heart beat reset 👹 What next?
Good luck with that.
...meanwhile, the weather girls are predicting a Bomb Cyclone to hit tomorrow.
57 years in this God forsaken spot and that's the first time I've ever heard of one of those hitting my neck of the woods.
Guess I'll be sitting outside tomorrow, watching for the Bombers (still haven't finished chopping up the trees that fell the other day!)....where did I put my Civil Defense hat again?
