What Are You Driving ??

After putting 217,000 miles on my 2001 F-150 SuperCrew, I finally decided to get a one, a 2013 F-150 STX. Even with the 5.0 liter V8 engine, it gets 22mpg on the highway. My old truck with the 5.4 liter engine would get 16mpg at best. Last week I drove from southeast Arizona to Dallas, Tx (870 miles) and only had to fill up once.

Bought this beast last week after my minnivan slid backwards down a snow packed hill in Michigan. 2000 Ford Excursion 4x4. It won't be sliding backwards down any hills. 226,000 miles but still in great shape. 12 mpg really stinks, but I'll be leaving it at my place in Michigan and only use it in the winter so I should be putting less than a 1000 miles on it a year. Oh, and it's a blast to drive in the snow.

With all these idiot Illinois and Iowa drivers that never learned how to actually drive (let alone drive in the snow and ice) I am half expecting my Jeep to get rear ended or T-Boned. Don't wan't to have to buy a new one yet.

Gas or Diesel Glen?
I know exactly what you mean Adler. It's not any better down here where I live.

Nice! Gotta get rid of them street tires on the rear!!

5.3L Gas. I wish it had the 7.3L turbo diesel, they are supposed to get almost 20mpg on the highway, but the Excursions with those are still going for big bucks.

Not street, just approaching the end of their life. Been pricing new ones. The missing hubcap on the left font makes it look meaner. I think I'll loose the other three.

I drove one back from Bismark, North Dakota one time that had the Triton V-10. Pulling a 32 foot trailer with my El Camino and a custom motorcycle in it the Excursion got 3 miles to the gallon. I left Bismark with $600.00 and got to Abingdon and had $80.00 left.
