Today we replaced the van my wife totalled last week.
A brand new Hyundai Tucson with all the trimmings. 1.99% financing for 5 years.
I work with a young couple who went to look at a car to purchase and made the mistake of mentioning to a car salesman how badly they needed a car. They did not get the deal they were hoping for.

Great choice Greg. I've had my brand new Tuscon N-Line petrol/electric hybrid for two months, and I love it !

My son has the new Hyundai Ironic Iconic and I am very impressed with the car but not the company. Comfortable on longish trips, goes like a rocket, stable in tight cornering, etc. The down side is that when he bought it in February he bought the towbar option and was lead to expect it in 6 weeks. It was 6 weeks before it left the factory in Korea and it arrived in mid May with no towbar. He has been given two delivery dates for that which never eventuated and is now "promised" it for Oct 22. We are not holding our breath. In the mean time he has to use my Land Rover, which he hates, to tow the trailer as his wife's Kia can only handle trailers up to 1.25 tonnes.

I have to admit, my local Hyundai dealer has been great all round. I got the car in around 8 days after signing up (including a weekend), all tested, sorted and fuelled up.
In the UK, the "default" colour is red, with any other colour costing extra (£630 for the "Shimmering Silver" on my example), but the only colour choices available for quick delivery (which I needed), were either the silver, or white. Any other colour (for my particular model) would have meant a wait of around five weeks, to three months - some were en-route by sea, others due to be shipped.
I wasn't charged for the "extra" colour, and also ended up with a couple of features normally classed as "optional extras".
So, considering the distance from factory to end user, it was, overall, pretty good service.

Actually, this was last night.
I was on Max's Models live stream pod cast on You Tube.

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYUxbNuEiIc
I got to show some of the models I have built over the years.
The entire pod cast is 2.5 hours long with a 30 minute intro of some beautiful museum ship models Max saw in a museum in South Carolina.
I had fun being a guest.
I hope you all enjoy watching this.

I just watched that yesterday.

The wife just called me downstairs and she sounded panicked. I got down there and she said there was a giant spider in the laundry room and needed a paper towel. I went in my model room and standing there was #2 daughter.....a total birthday surprise. She came up from Kamloops and #1 daughter picked her up last night

Happy birthday young man and best wishes for many more.

When I see the name Kamloops, I think of the ship that sank on Lake Superior over a century ago.
Then again I am a ship wreck nut on the Great Lakes.
Happy Birthday!
My biggest surprise was being home on leave from Iraq for my 50th birthday!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

One day closer to having a working bathtub/shower again. Been using a modified pump up garden sprayer with a spray nozzle on it for showering for just over a month now, it's redneck central at my house.
Spoke too soon, forgot for caulk the vertical joint where the glass door frame mates with the tub walls, dang it!!!! Tomorrow will hopefully be the day for it's first use unless I see something else I've overlooked.

Yesterday, actually. While viewing the forum on computer, I heard several aircraft engines, looked out the window and saw five low wing light planes, looked to be two seaters, in a reasonably tight formation. It was a perfect flying day and I'm sure they were enjoying the day. On occasions, I have seen two of them in a tight formation on perfect flying days before.
