The government didn't tell me, if I make too much money before I retire, they will claw my pension back. Had I known that, I would have retired in June or July the following year

Yeah - #$%^& thieves. I got done over when I went to PNG in 2000. Could have started work in December but decided to start in January so ended up paying tax in Aus as well as PNG. I spent over 183 days in Aus in that financial year so had to pay.

Reminds me there used to be a bumper sticker in Canada that said something like Do not steal. The government hates competition.

So, you've had Coors?

Probably's Milwaukee's best too lol!

During the many brewery strikes in the '70s we were forced to buy cases of U.S water posing as beer, none were heard of before. One was Schmitt. We had to buy three cases to make it through the weekend. After three weeks we swapped to wine gala kegs; think of them as gallon size juice boxes for adults

Last week I found a post on social media from a metal detectorist who found a regimental button associated with an ancestor's unit and timeframe, and in a place where my ancestor served. I contacted him and offered to pay for the button but, when I explained my reason, he would have none of it. He posted the button to me without asking a penny.

It's good to know there are still some truly kind and generous people on this messed up little planet.
