Good lists guys, although I question the effectiveness of a 262 as a long range recon/ASW aircraft

Well heres one, the Me-262E-3 float jet!

in the place of the 4 forward firing 3cm weapons was housed 6 rocket cannisters with a range of 6 miles. Forward visibility was hampered however due to the backblast of the rockets discharging on theri way to the floating target, so the rocket pods were then carreid under each wing for a total of 12 rocket cannisters . the wing spars had to be buffeted due to the heaviness of the rocket pods.

Welle with marine dark green and light sea grey, the same camo used on torpedo equipped Ju 88A's during 43-44. the Me 262's were used at night only .........

ah ok, one more thing, how do you explain how, on the profile adler posted there is seemingly nothing except the ladder connecting the fusilage to the floats? is that ladder taking all the weight?

Titanium ladder? Or maybe a magnetic forcefield between them...

simple : Adler's profile is complete supposition. there are no known fotos of the almost stealth floatplane/jet unit. In fact the standard German markings are reportedly to be in black with the undersides in black. teh floats had the uppers in the marine camo I mentioned with black undersides. all ground crewmen wore the standard black one piece coveralls

bet it was a struggle for the crews to even see the plane on the ground she was so stealthy, no?

the jet/floatplanes were actually camo'd with an umbrella net, with the jets sitting side by side in 4 feet of water, they were then pulled out by row boats, rather large ones I might add built by Merecedes Benz; bet you didn't know that Mercedes continued to aid the Wehrmachts war effort ever so subtley

I have to agree with the above list of aircraft. I might sub the Ju-88 nightfighter with the He-219. But I think they both get the message across. For a fighter I might throw in the late Italian fighters or even the Janpanesse fighters. Just to mix it up a little.

Damn I was hoping no one would realize that. It came from when I cut the engines off the pic and superimposed them over the floats. By the way I used a He-115 to make the pic.

Erich also I am sure you have info that we may have, but I personally have never heard of a Me-262 float plane. As I said though, you probably know something that I do not.
