Evidently, George C. Scott thought it was a serious movie. Kubrick asked Scott to play a take for laughs, after each serious take, for a gag reel. Sellers seems to be doing a rather good, if not WAY over the top, imitation of Michael Redgrave, in that scene.
A good movie Bill.....saw that a while back.....the sad reality of when things don't go to plan....The Bombardment
