Daughters and I went old school over the weekend:

After watching Burt Reynolds and that uber cool black Trans Am, my daughter made it to work in half her normal drive time... not sure how I feel about that.
Good thing you didn't follow up Smokey & The Bandit with Hooper!
Great movie, but if Smokey gave her ideas....

Dearest Prime Minister Gnomey,

I've been seeing ads for that movie and it looks very interesting.
I was wondering if you could indulge us with your impressions of it.

Sincerely,
Your King (of Rock'n'Roll),
His Royal Majesty, Elvis
A co-worker said it was pretty good, although she's not a history buff by any stretch she thought I'd enjoy it so take that for what it's worth. I plan on giving it a look this weekend.

Mrs. B-N and I watched "The Great Escaper" yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Great performances, particularly from Glenda Jackson and Danielle Vitalis. Michael Caine says more with his expressions than with his dialogue. Heartily recommended.

Prompted by Buffnut, I've just watched "The Great Escaper", a truly brilliant movie.
I remember the media coverage at the time, and, watching the movie, it brought home the realisation of aging, and memories, and times, and friends, lost.
Slightly ... er ... damp eyes at times when viewing ...............

I watched this again last night - "no fighting in the war room" never gets old. :D
