Well That just sucks. I liked that Mel's!!!!!!That particular location was demolished in 1976.
There is a high rise apartment building at that location now.

I took it to be a variation on the "banality of evil" message. Basically showing the way that Rudolf Höss and his family were having essentially normal boring lives in a home in the "Zone of Interest" right next to the concentration camp where people were being murdered.Not sure what the main message was until I looked up the directors intent.
