When Dr. Who started showing in the US they ran the version with Tom Baker and Elizabeth Sladen (RIP).
In those days, during the winter months, I tended to wear an old mohair driving coat that my brother had bought many years before at a garage sale and I often wore a long scarf with it.
A friend from work and I were both instant fans of the show and her name was Sara (Sladen's character's name from the series), so on our off-time we'd pile around in my '68 Beetle, which we both affectionately referred to as The Tardis.
The only thing I refused to wear was that big floppy hat Baker always donned on the show.
Mind you, I wasn't trying to emulate Baker, it was just a coincidence that I liked wearing the coat and scarf. Those long coats were in style back then.

Getting back on topic, though, Christmas day was "A Clint Eastwood Christmas" on GRIT TV, so I ended up watching half of For a Few Doillars More and all of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and later on, they showed Pale Rider.
Jan.1 will be "A John Wayne New Year" on the same channel, so I expect to be intently watching some of those movies, too.
 
Bear Island (1979). A classic with Donald Sutherland, Richard Widmark, Vanessa Redgrave, Christopher Lee and Lloyd Bridges. I purchased a copy from Australia eight years ago. Its truly hard to find.
