About 25 years ago, I was quite friendly with a girl and her son who came from St. Helena, and at that time lived not far from Silverstone/Towcester (UK).
I remember being rather surprised, as it's such a remote place with a tiny population, and more so as she was a descendant of the original Portuguese settlers, evident through her dark complexion.
BTW, she pronounced the name of the island as Saint Heleena, which is why I can always remember her Christian name, as it rhymed - Selina from St. Helena.

Yep. Read the book when it came out and really enjoyed it. FYI: Andy Weir's third book is also really entertaining: Artemis (nothing to do with the moon missions of the same name, although it is set on the moon). It follows his template of a smart protagonist being forced to use science and their brain to survive a very serious challenge. The scenario (and the protagonist) is very different, but definitely ... interesting. 'Nuff said - read the book (or wait until it's made into a movie......)
