Like a carrier based B-29?
I had thought of building only 1/2 and leaving the left wing/fuselage off a cross-section in effect but I liked Switcha's cut-outs better.
Maybe a folding tail section instead of wings?

CL-44 style Mike? I don't think that's ever been done in a kit before

I've decided to start my Matchbox Prowler, opened the box up and realised things are not as good as I thought when I took a quick glance this morning. Here's how it looks:

Wings assembled cleanly, but one of the underwing pods (buddy refueling IIRC?) missing, as is half of one droptank. So I'll be building a clean model without stores. Unfortunately, as the wings are constructed, I can't do a 'wings-folded' version. And one of the fold sections is also missing anyways. Mucho negative feedback going to the guy who sold me this sucker. He said the wings were built, not that half of it was missing!:evil::evil:

Too bad about the kit, always had good luck on the kits I've gotten used on ebay. some old decals that didn't stick very well but all parts present.
that folding tail looks pretty neat, would have been easier that all the top cut-outs. could have epoxied a small hinge on one side. too late now

I think the Prowler can be salvaged. It should be a quick build anyway, as there is literally no interior detail, and about half the airframe/stores construction is done or missing. I reckon I'll shift this by the first week of New Year, and only that far off because I'm going away for a week

Well, the pit is in. No, really, this is what you get:

There is a rear cockpit panel, but it is integral with the bulkhead between the two pits, which is a separate part so will be fitted after the fuse halves are together

Hi guys, I've had a major computer malfunction just before Christmas so have been 'laying low'. Looking good on the B-29 Mike, another option is the front wheel assembly is very strong and has a very positive attachment to the model so you might be able to hang it off the wall by the nose wheel with the cut outs held on with bluetak or something similar. After mine had an accident I left the wings off of the fuselage and it does not take up much space at all now. LOL
Have fun Mike and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Cheers Switcha

Not yet but getting there.
My other bombers, a B-17 and B-24 which just barely fit in my cabinet
