Looks like that could also be used for RAF Light Earth if one came across a subject

Did a search and these two showed up....

I'm liking Vallejo more and more. I use the paint unthined in a Neo Iwata. The squirt bottle is more friendly than Tamiya's bottle, for me there is a lot less waste. I use disposable eye droppers with Tamiya.
Went to the pharmacy and asked for 200 1ml syringes, perfect for mixing paint. The pharmacist asked if I was diabetic and I said no, I use them to mix paint. The look she gave me and the look of people on the street that walked by me carrying a clear bag full of syringes was pretty funny

Being the 3rd Saturday of the month, my work bench went to the Kalamazoo Aviation Museum (Air Zoo) where several of us from the Kalamazoo Scale Modelers worked on various models. I worked on the Hasegawa 1/72 Emily flying boat and a 1/24 scale Revell Tommy Ivo 4 engine dragster, The Showboat. Both are kits I have had before. Sadly the Emily got destroyed at home while I was serving in the USAF in then West Germany. The dragster I had as a kid and never could finish it Right now I am assembling the exhaust headers for the 4 engines. Two assemblies are done only 6 more to go! Thankfully Revell includes a jig for these assemblies.

Oh I want to go to the Zoo. When I was at Grissom my best friend was from Benton Harbor and I've been to Kalamazoo but didn't know about the zoo back than, 85-89. I so want to go now. They have the only xf-54 amongst many others.

I was stationed at Grissom AFB from 1977 to 1980. I was part of the 1915 Comm Sqdn.
I am a member of the Air Zoo. Let me know, I would be happy to show you around.
The Air Zoo has the only SR-71B, XP-55 Ascender, and the only known piece if the WWII Light Cruiser USS Juneau above water. That was the ship the 5 Sullivan brothers died on.

If I ever get up that way again I will. But I'm allergic to the 🥶. Raised in the Cascades I thought I knew wat cold was until I got to Grissom.

Oh no no no I won't go there no more!
I'm tired of freezing to death!
Oh no thank you please, it only makes me sneeze and than it makes it hard to find the door.

But I could used detailed photos of the XP-55!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Grissom wasn't all that cold. I weathered -30 at Griffiss AFB, NY as I walked the 1.5 miles to work. I had the parka and I was comfortable. Ellsworth AFB, SD was as cold.
In January, 1978, Grissom did have a severe blizzard that completely shut not only the base down, but most of central Indiana. We had snow drifts up to 21 feet in base housing. Even though I was mission essential that morning and lived in the BNCOQ, I couldn't risk trying to either drive or walk to work. My shop's night shift wasn't relieved until Noon the following day. Even then I had to dig out the door to the command post building to get in with just a bucket! We almost lost 2 airman in the Air Traffic Control tower. Everything failed but 1 telephone. No heat. No power. No water. The white painted tower was impossible to find to pull them out during the white out of the blizzard. They were rescued the next day when a snow plow got close enough for the Controllers to spot the plow. The plow then broke down have way back and they had to be rescued again! The base steam plant was down to 1 boiler. It could barely provide heat to the dormitory buildings. My room got cool enough I could see my breath. Thankfully the building's hot water heater worked so I could still enjoy a hot shower!
That blizzard was NOT forecast. It caught all by surprise. It was so bad as I was trying to arrange another way to get to work, the Base Commander ordered everyone to stay where they are. No movement without his permission. Even the plows were pulled off of the runway. SAC was told that if war happens, the 305 ain't playing!
It took a week to get things back to almost normal on Grissom. US-31 to Kokomo was still just 1 lane in each direction for a couple of weeks.
So call me a survivor! It was quite an experience! It was a perfect storm.
Snow season isn't for another 2 months or so. You have time to come and enjoy yet this year.
Next year the IPMS Nationals will be in Fort Wayne, IN the first weekend in August. My model club is co-sponsoring the event. Maybe see you there? The forecast is for NO SNOW!

I bought 200 disposable pipettes. They work fine for Tamiya paints, but there is waste. I'm finding the cost of paint can be higher than the cost of the model. The thought of changing the iconic Tamiya paint packaging to a squirt bottle like Vallejo or MM Paint is probably sacrilege is the halls of Tamiya Inc. The Tamiya bottles are nice when using a brush, the concave inner lid has enough paint to work from, but when airbrushing, there's more waste.

I use the pipettes for mixing very small amounts of touchup paint. The syringes can be used many times over and once you get a few models under your belt, you know exactly how much paint/thinner to mix. The 1ml syringes are into 10 sections which are again divided. I'm a 1:1 mixer so when I just painted my one colour camo Fw190, I used the 6 mark for both thinner and then paint. If more is needed add small exact amounts. Any left overs I use to practice mottles, squiggles and free-hand. I just flush out and wipe with water for cleanup

The next build is a little re-connection to my youth the Monogram B-58 Hustler 1/48.I wanted to build it as a wheels up crate but the kit doors do not look like they will suffice for I wanted to make it a hanger. The copit will paint some basic dry brushing but that's about it since it is closed and tight.I will be focusing on the external paint finish lots of smoothing of the surfaces.
