White done. (Tamiya XF-2 Flat White). A couple of touch ups to do (my fault), but the new Sagud airbrush handled the job.

No.
They're track guards.
Skirts, or "schurtzen" were the type of large metal plates loosely hung on the sides of PzKfw III and IV (later replaced by mesh) to try to counter weapons such as the Bazooka.
The Panther had a row of bolted plates along each side, to protect the area above the wheels.

Often in the English speaking part of the world some German words appear very funny (and mostly wrong).
I really don't know how to pronounce the word written on the photo:"Shcurtzen".
The real one is Schürzen (plural of Schürze=apron, yep the one we use in the kitchen).

Yep !
I've seen it written as "Schurtzen" and also as "Schurzen", the latter being correct, although with an umlaut above the "u".
As for the word in the photos, I'm afraid I have dsylxec kyebroad !!.
Or the automatic correction lurks behind. I can't write the word field-modified without the latter being corrected to filed-modified. Anytime I discuss a field applied camo, it becomes filed-camo. Just great!
Cheers!
P.S. On a second thought maybe the whisky was responsible? Or the whiskey?

Monogram's SBD. I was away on a business trip for 10 days, picking up where I left off and working on the dive brakes. Zen and the art of Pin Vice drilling.

I wish Tamiya would come out with an SBD.
