Both look great, Karl. How is that Hataka for brush painting?

This Su-27 set is quite thin and has taken 3 coats to cover.
The grey even on top of the light blue took 2 coats.
The German tank colour set i have is a bit thicker with better coverage.

They are good paints though, seem slightly more durable than Vallejo i normally use.

I also have the USAF Vietnam and Israeli cammo sets.

Good stuff Bernie. Looks like a troublesome wing fit - you could maybe fill the gaps with small dabs of filler or Superglue/CA, and touch up with paint.

So the wings are on had a step on the R/side and a small seam on the L/side.I had an issue with one lower wing being to long I sanded down the butt side that glues to the lower gear section till all the holes lined up.The tailplanes are built now as well as the rudder just not all are attached.I like the way they did the landing lights with the bulb inside and then the cover.The kit in it first 48 hrs looking at the SOD I am glad that perseverance paid off the kit is not that bad good as PCM which I did not liken it to at the beginning

Looking good Kevin. The Airfix 1:48 Hurricane I just finished had wing tip lights with a dimple added for the bulb, just add a pin prick of colour

2 Squawks and a Spitty ready for initial painting.
The kids (for whom the Skyhawks are intended) have informed me they want to paint them, so I won't get to finish the job. Oh well. I'll get the IP coaming and jet intakes sorted for them first.

Next up then: 3 Airfix 1:72 Spitfire Mk.1as.
Two will be converted to PR.1Gs, the third a PR.1C.
Both types of Starter Kit box art, and sprues (-sans seats, can't find them at moment)

Should be some interesting camouflage coming up, Evan. How are those Humbrol paints in the kit. My grandson is almost at the paint stage and just curious

A little Geo. One PR.1G in PRU Off-White/Pink, one in standard DG/DE/Sky camo, and the PR.1C in Cosmic Blue.

Geo sorry, didn't reply about the paints. My son and daughter have used them on Airfix models (brush painted), and they are surprisingly good and smooth if applied correctly (and patiently - unforgiving if not!)

I JUST did the final tape peel on my 1/72 SPAD XIII. Couldn't wait to show it. I haven't really looked that close myself, so any errors will be found by us at the same time.

There is a missing part that is the machine guns that go on a small panel in front of the cockpit. I had just finished painting it when the catapult; I mean clothespin launched it.... somewhere. I will be doing a "Spring Clean" in the plastic room over the weekend to find it. Here's what I'm working toward.

Some other reference I found seem to indicate that the bottom of the fuselage, wings, landing gear and wheels were lighter than the light brown. I'm going to add red, white and blue matched to the decal for the rudder, so the edges are painted too.
