It has a very tight push fit, Evan. I did spray the camo with the cowl pushed on and I'll be able to add glue along the inside lip

Cowling on. Just need to paint rudder strips, glue on lil bits and flat coat. If anyone builds this option, beware as Tamiya really dropped the ball on this one. Camo demarcation on the cowling is lower and the blue goes further under the wing. Fuselage insignia goes further back and squadron identifiers are lower. For whatever reason, the antenna post is black or some other dark colour. Haven't seen it on any other Wildcat.....yet

Beauty. Besides the too early tail wheel installation, the too early exhaust installation. If its attached to an engine with removable panels, so be it

After much delay (almost a year), I put the flight deck on a solid piece of wood.

Finally found a color for the deck, not satisfied with the wood, so ordered two more different shades.

So deck is getting four B5N2s (one from Akagi), four A5M2s (three from Hiryu and one from Kaga) and one D3A1 (from Akagi, not indicated as being one of the final aircraft, but I just wanted one on there.)

Mounted the torpedos on the B5N2s.

Lost pieces for the fourth one, so had to order a replacement.

Decals placed on the A6m2s for Akagi and Hiryu.

On the last two A6M2s for the Hiryu, I had to improvise. I had to raid the other sheets to make the tail unit markings needed.

The canopies need some final color added.
