Interesting story in the Minnesota Legionnaire newpaper.
A 5 acre chunk of floating bog broke loose from the shore of a northern Minnesota lake and drifted around until it ran aground in front of the Legion camp ground's beach. Now they are trying to figure out how to move it before winter sets in and fixes it permanently, blocking the beach.

The article mentions several possible solutions.
Contract with a local boat engine manufacturer to use a fleet of boats to tow it to a new location as a promotional stunt,
use Guard aviation assets to tow it as a training exercise , or hire a contractor to remove it ($80,000).
The mass broke loose after a period of heavy rain raised the lake level, and when the lake level recedes the bog will be impossible to move.
Wetland protection laws preclude simply disposing of it. It has to be towed and secured to another part of the lake.

They actually use this beastie in Prince George, B.C.
